If you asked most people what it means to be balanced, they might tell you it’s about “me” time… Less stress and more time away from it all.
It certainly sounds appealing.
But Master of Yoga Dr George King believed something else entirely!
Do we have to be practical about things like money and our physical well-being? Of course.
Is proper relaxation important? Certainly.
But none of these things get to the heart of what true spiritual balance is really about.
Dr King believed there was no greater demonstration of being balanced than devoting your life to service!
He worked against tremendous odds throughout his life to help mankind on Earth as much as he possibly could.
Despite the terrible stress and extraordinary responsibility of his Mission, he remained completely devoted to God and the Masters – never straying from the Path.
What made it possible?
In this episode of Aetherius Radio Live, host Richard Lawrence welcomes onto the show Mark Bennett. Mark co-authored two books with Richard, and is the youngest International Director of The Aetherius Society.
Together they discuss for the first time a formula for achieving true spiritual balance that you can apply to your own life, as well as:
- Common ideas that people mistake for spiritual balance
- What you can do to avoid unnecessary mistakes and bad karma that will hold you back
- What you can do to discover God within yourself
Don’t miss it!

Hi, John here. A very interesting discussion on Spiritual Balance. It can be quite a juggling act, and most of my life I’ve got it wrong. But now I think I’m getting the hang of it. When it works you start to feel peace and harmony in your life.
It all reminds me of an album by The Moody Blues in the 1970’s called “A Question Of Balance”. Full album available on You Tube.
As Richard Lawrence indicated in the talk, regular practice of ” going within” is required. I also like what Mark said at the end when he mentioned the two opposite poles of the totality of God.
We are made in Gods image with the same potentialities, positive and negative. That’s what we have to balance, I think.
Thanks for the discussion. Best Wishes, John.
Thanks, John. Indeed so many profound statements of truth are or seem paradoxical – there is no greater example of balance than God itself. Enlightenment – knowing God – is balance, and this is what we should all strive more consciously towards. Blessings, Darren
In her little booklet called STEPS TOWARDS INNER PEACE the author, Peace Pilgrim said, ”BLESSED are they who advance toward the spiritual path without the selfish motive of seeking inner peace, for they shall find it.” I think that encapsulates the entire philosophy of Spiritual Balance.
She explained that true balance comes when we have truly adjusted our lives to live a selfless meaningful existence instead of a selfish one. She gave a series of Blessings including one here that reminded me of Dr George King.
”BLESSED are they who translate every good thing they know into action—ever higher truths shall be revealed to them.”
Hi Paul, thank you so much for sharing this.
“She explained that true balance comes when we have truly adjusted our lives to live a selfless meaningful existence instead of a selfish one.” >> YES!
