17 DAYS OF SPIRITUAL WISDOM

The Only True Democracy…

The only true democracy
In these uncertain times of political change, let us reflect on the stirring words of the Cosmic Master Mars Sector 6 given through the trance mediumship of Dr. George King on August 28th, 1960:

A vast number of the inhabitants of Terra have allowed themselves to become the pawns of communism. Another great number have allowed themselves to become the pawns of so-called democracy.

The few, the thinking few, the Glorious Few, have divorced themselves from these things and are not the pawns of any political creed, any dogmatic belief. These Few know a greater freedom than the majority, for they are not limited to basic materialistic concepts.

Cosmic Voice, Issue No. 26, July-August 1962

Wisdom

It is not communism or even so-called democracy that is the key to correct government on this or any other planet. It is wisdom – gained through experience.

Hence Dr. George King’s profound statement published in You Are Responsible! in 1961:

The only true democracy is wisdom, for wisdom is knowledge activated by power through love.

1) Knowledge

You cannot be wise without knowledge. Not necessarily intellectual knowledge; you don’t need a PhD, or to memorize an encyclopedia, in order to be wise.

The most important aspect of knowledge is spiritual knowledge – knowledge of the existence of the God Spark within. This is not theoretical knowledge, not blind faith, but real knowledge gained through experience – ultimately through the experience of entering a deep meditative state.

Through such an experience we become aware of our true spiritual essence – as a living reality. This is a reality far more real than anything we experience in the ordinary physical world.

This kind of knowledge brings with it a vast treasure trove of other knowledge – practical, spiritual knowledge relating first and foremost to how we can be of most use in service to others.

2) Power

No knowledge is any use unless it can be put into action, and it can only be put into action by power. If you have no power, then knowledge is just a theory.

For example, you might be a world expert and bestselling author on the subject of spiritual healing, but without the ability to channel spiritual energy, all your knowledge is virtually useless. Another person might have less knowledge, and yet develops the ability to channel spiritual energy such that they can perform apparently miraculous feats of healing.

3) Love

The third element is love. In other words, genuine compassion – not personal, possessive love based on “like” and “dislike”, but deep, universal love – wanting the best for all living things.

Knowledge and power won’t help anyone without love. Quite the reverse in fact; they can be extremely dangerous. Nuclear weapons are a classic example of the unholy matrimony of knowledge and power, unsanctified by the all-important Goddess – love.

The trinity of wisdom

To sum up: wisdom is a trinity of knowledge, power and love – each element absolutely essential. If one element of the three is missing, you are left with something useless or dangerous.

The Higher Self

The key to this wisdom lies within.

The conscious mind and the super-conscious mind

Dr. King has explained that our minds include a conscious element and a super-conscious element.

The conscious mind is what we use every day throughout our lives to function on this plane of existence.

The super-conscious is the higher aspect of us which is responsible for inspiration, conscience, selflessness and so forth. This is sometimes referred to as the Higher Self.

King and servant analogy

In a wise person, the Higher Self controls the conscious mind.

A simple analogy would be that of the relationship between king and servant – the Higher Self should be the king, and the conscious mind should be the servant. But in the average person on Earth the king is ignored by the servant, and the servant has seized the throne.

In other words, the Higher Self is largely unheeded and the conscious mind does virtually whatever it likes. In this circumstance, the conscious mind could be termed the “lower self”.

This situation is so ingrained within most of us that we have almost completely lost contact with our Higher Selves, and, as a result, often we simply do not know what is right and what is wrong, even when we want to.

The tyranny of the lower self

Most of us, to some degree or another, are ruled by the conscious mind – the tyrannical usurper who is not fit for office. The conscious mind is plagued by fears, materialistic desires, insecurities, ignorance, jealousy, resentment, hopelessness, likes and dislikes, and so on. These are the evil ministers in the conscious mind’s unlawful parliament. They manipulate their puppet ruler with the promise of ease, comfort, satisfaction, pleasure, power and escape from pain. Such promises are often broken – but even when kept, the rewards are short-lived. Nevertheless, the tyrant continues to believe the lies of his ill-chosen councilors – and inevitably suffers terribly as a result, and, worse: causes suffering to others.

The Higher Self – the rightful king – would have no time for such nonsense. If his servant would only listen to him, the king could instruct him how to sort these evil ministers out – and either send them away or at least keep them in line. But that would take considerable humility and obedience on the servant’s part – a price all too few of us would be willing to pay.

The pacifism of the Higher Self

Why does the Higher Self tolerate the rebellion of the conscious mind? Why doesn’t the king “man up” and force the servant to do the right thing?

The answer is simple. The Higher Self is so wise that it will only govern by consent. It is not a bully. Force is alien to its nature. It is, in a sense, the ultimate extreme of democracy – in its best sense. If this were not the case, it would be no better than the conscious mind, and as such, any victory over the lower self would be pointless.

The battle between the Higher Self and the conscious mind is a strange one. The Higher Self does not fight; it does not vanquish the conscious mind. It simply waits for the conscious mind to surrender – which, inevitably, after many lives, it will do.

In other words: the king waits for the servant to realize that he is not fit to rule, and that in trying to do so he will only bring himself suffering, all of which is of his own making. This is the great irony: the servant’s rebellion against the king is entirely self-defeatist, in that he will be far happier when he submits to the king.

The Higher Self is the real you

The victory of the Higher Self is freedom, because our Higher Selves are our real selves. The conscious mind is just a functionary aspect of our mental processes; it is not what we are – in the same way that the physical body is not what we are.

Until we are at peace with our Higher Selves we do not even have democracy within our own being, because we are not being ruled by our real selves.

Until we are at peace with our Higher Selves, we do not have self-governance in our own minds – we are being controlled by an incompetent imposter, albeit one of our own creation.

Why? Because the Higher Self is what we really are. So until the Higher Self takes charge, we are nothing more than the prisoners of our basic nature.

The secret to true democracy

No wonder the world is in a mess. If our own minds are in a mess, what else can we expect?

And the mind, in a broader sense, is much more than just what goes on in our heads – it encompasses all our feelings, emotions, and, more precisely, the flow of prana through the chakras – not least the heart chakra, which has a unique role in our spiritual well-being.

External conditions on this planet are a direct reflection of the internal conditions of our own consciousness. If we reject the wise rulership of the Higher Self within our own being, we cannot hope to have truly wise governance within our own country – or indeed within our own world.

The surrender of the conscious mind to the wisdom of the Higher Self within us all – is the only answer.

This is the secret to true democracy.

    Really useful Mark. Thank you.
I haven’t read much literature on the battle between the higher and lower selves. I’ll have to go find it.
    Or just submit now 😉

True and Free elections plus Freedom of speech are important elements without which this can fall into a dictatorial play on words by some in group playing at being wise who will not tolerate true and fair criticism and this has happened in systems claiming to interpret the true will of the people or what some want to be seen as truth.

We don’t vote with the ticking of a box on a piece of paper. That’s the illusion of control given to the majority by the few. We vote by what we invest our time in, invest our our money in, where to channel our energy, who we chose to associate with, by our communication with others but most importantly how we manipulate karma, not for ourselves alone, but for the world, as a whole. That is the REAL vote that matters not the lip service the majority pay by signing a sheet of paper in a system which is rigged from the outset anyway!

    Absolute truth

David Trimble – You assume they want to help; you would be sharing with the wrong people. Anyway, people must SEEK Truth within and without. If people don’t ask for something, they don’t want it. Raise our vibrations and consciousness, and Love all life. The Ahimsa/Service Life Path is the way forward. “First, do no harm”. We get the world we have created and deserve through thought. 100,000 species are going extinct annually due to pollution; resources are dwindling; we have 8-11 years left to make radical changes in SELF. This must start today, and everyone, for once, must help. Where is LOVE? Its time to follow the Teachings, fully, and dynamically, as given by all Masters.

“To love means loving the unlovable. To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable. Faith means believing the unbelievable. Hope means hoping when everything seems hopeless” – G.K. Chesterton.
