Faith

“Some people have an ability to have faith. In my estimation – and I say this with great humility – there are some people who have the type of faith which I could never have. I do not know whether I envy such people, or whether I disagree with them. To me, Faith has to be based on something real, something lasting, something which has been proven throughout the years, either by myself or by other agencies in which I have faith and they themselves proved by even other agencies. In other words, it has to be something extremely practical. I will have faith in a magic ritual only when I have tried it, or another agency, which is greater than I am – and there are plenty of those – have tried it and made it work. Then will I have faith in it. Until then, I have to be convinced that that particular ritual will work. But, there are many people who would have faith in a ritual before they have even tried it – when they know nothing about it. There are many people, who because of this faith, which might be good or which might be bad, have found some semblance of happiness. But I maintain that even this is not the full thing. I maintain the full thing is something far greater than that. The full thing is something born out of fuller knowledge, a fuller appreciation, a deeper awareness.”
